Sweetcorn shortage

caused by dry weather is affecting availablity this week. Our own crop has now run out so we’re in the process of making up the shortfall from Strawberry Fields. an organic farm close-by. A real shame and the first time we’ve ever experienced a shortage. We’re replacing sweetcorn with tomatoes where necessary. Many apologies for any disappointment this may cause. Oh, the weather…

Friendship Scheme up and running

Customers who introduce a friend to the Woodlands Farm Box Scheme now qualify to receive a free box after their friend’s received 4 deliveries. There’s no limit! The more friends you introduce the more free boxes you stand to receive. The scheme runs until Christmas. Just ask your friend to fill in the form giving your name when they sign up on-line.

Prickly Artichokes - Take care!

Do watch out when handling the globe artichokes. This year they’revery prickly, like cactii. To cook, steam until the leaves are tender. Then remove leaves one by one and dip into melted butter and eat the fleshy part at the base. One of those great culinary rituals. Enjoy!
