Good News! Box Prices held!

January 10th, 2012

Just to say that Box prices will remain unchanged at least until April! Meantime do help us if you can by recommending us to friends and neighbours (after your friend’s received four deliveries you’ll qualify to receive either a free box or £10 towards your account). If we can attract sufficient numbers then prices will be able to stay as they are another year. Will keep you posted…

New Year Deliveries will resume

December 16th, 2011

the week strating Monday 2nd January (the farm will be closed between Christmas and New Year). Delivery days will be as normal except for the following rounds which will take place a day later that normal.

Boston and Lincoln Burton (usually on a Tuesday) will be delivered Wednesday 4th  

 

Brigg and Grantham (usually on a Wednesday) will be delivered Thursday 5th

 

Sleaford (usually on a Thursday) will be delivered Friday 6th

Talking Turkey!

Sales are buoyant with medium to heavy birds sold out.  We do have a few 3-4kg Norfolk Black hens available which are gamey and tender and delicious. Two of these birds would easily feed eight people. Please order asap!

Whitefly causing Christmas brassica shortage

especially of kale, purple sprouting broccoli and Brussels sprout stems (loose sprouts are okay - we can wash them). We’ll pick where we can but it’s unlikely this will be possible because of the whitefly. Apologies in advance if we’re unable to provide these items as part of your Christmas order. Once we have a cold snap things should start to become easier…

Whitefly are about

thanks to the mild autumn weather! They tend to settle in leafy veg (sprouting broccoli, kale etc) and are likely to persisit until we have a cold snap or some rain. Should you notice any just rinse the leaves with a little salty water. The veg should be fine!

Please note that as from this week starting 24th October your weekly delivery will be on a Thursday (rather than a tuesday). You should therefore expect to receive your box this week on thursday 27th October and on a thursday thereafter. We really hope this won’t cause you any inconvenience.
