Agri-'culture' has always provided us with food, with inspiration and has shaped our culture, yet today most of us are separated from the land that sustains us. During the last eight years I've travelled the length and breadth of Britain visiting a host of organic farmers and growers. Every farm has something special, a history steeped in the shape and name of each field, a favoured breed, an ancient custom. I have tried to capture a flavour of the farms I've visited - my own personal response to the role farmers play.
